Slow Stitching Workshop

Find your peace, piece by piece

40 British pounds
Insol Court, Cardiff

Service Description

An Afternoon of Mindful Making Please step away from the rush of everyday life and join us for two peaceful hours of slow stitching at the beautiful Insole Court. This gentle workshop invites you to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with the simple pleasure of needle and thread. No experience necessary – just bring yourself and an open heart. All materials are lovingly provided, and you'll be guided every step of the way by artist designer Alona Nesterenko. What You'll Do In this intimate workshop for up to 10 participants, you'll learn the beautiful art of slow stitching – a meditative practice that celebrates imperfection and the quiet rhythm of handwork. Using soft fabrics, colourful threads, and simple stitches, you'll create a small textile piece that's entirely your own. There's no rushing, no pressure, no right or wrong. Just the soothing repetition of needle through cloth, the gentle conversation of like-minded makers, and the satisfaction of watching something beautiful emerge from your hands. Whether you've never held a needle before or you're returning to a childhood skill, this workshop offers a rare gift: permission to be present, to make slowly, and to enjoy the process rather than race to the finish. The atmosphere is warm and unhurried. Soft music plays in the background, tea steeps in the pot, and the historic surroundings of Insole Court provide the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of creativity and calm. What You'll Take Home By the end of our time together, you'll have created a small, hand-stitched fabric artwork – a tactile reminder of this peaceful afternoon. Your piece can be sewn onto a favourite tote bag for a personal touch, added to a cosy jumper to mend with meaning, or framed and hung on your wall as a gentle piece of textile art. More than just a finished piece, you'll take home a new skill, a calmer mind, and perhaps a few new friends.

🌍 The Stitchog Studio Difference: Where Two Cultures Create Magic

A Personal Journey from Ukraine to Wales

Our founder's journey from Ukraine to the Welsh valleys brought together two rich textile traditions that share surprising connections. Both cultures value handcrafted beauty, connection to nature, and the importance of preserving heritage through making. This unique cultural fusion creates designs that feel both familiar and refreshingly original.

Healing Through Making

Born from a personal journey through depression and stress, Stitchog Studio understands the therapeutic power of creative work. Every kit is designed not just to create beautiful objects, but to provide moments of peace, accomplishment, and joy in busy modern life.

Progressive Learning Philosophy

We believe in growing with our makers. Start with a simple fabric art kit, progress to slow stitching, try your hand at quick projects – each step builds skills and confidence.
